The brave beachgoer was using his kite to propel himself above the water on his board in the sea off Goring, near Worthing.
He made the most of the bright sunny day and breeze, with gusts of up to 25mph near the Sea Lane Cafe in Marine Crescent.
It was a very clear day with unmarred views all the way to Rampion wind farm which is as far as 20 kilometres off the coast.
