Today (September 14) two bus routes serving Lewisham, Bromley and Chislehurst will be partly served by vintage buses dating back to the 1950s.

To mark the 100th anniversary of Bromley Bus Garage, and as part of Heritage Open Days, both the 61 and 261 bus routes will be partly served by vintage buses during today.

The main buses that will be used will be the well-known RT-type, which was the largest standardised bus fleet in the world during the 1950s alongside its successor the Routemaster.

Alongside the RT-type buses there will also be a range of more modern buses over the years going up to the 1970s.

These bus rides will also be accompanied by a display of vintage vehicles at Bromley Bus Garage from 11am up until 4pm.
