Taylor Swift has officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in a new Instagram statement posted on September 10. In her post, the 34-year-old pop star also criticized Republican candidate Donald Trump and his team for using AI-generated images of her earlier this summer.

“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” Taylor wrote on Instagram shortly after the presidential debate concluded. “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to research the issues and the positions these candidates hold on matters that are important to you. As a voter, I make sure to review and understand their proposed policies and plans for our country.”

The “You Need to Calm Down” singer then addressed the AI-generated photos that falsely depicted her endorsing the 78-year-old former Apprentice host. In her Instagram statement, Taylor clarified her stance.

“Recently, I learned that AI-generated images of me endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign were posted on his site,” she wrote. “This raised my concerns about AI and the spread of misinformation. It’s important for me to be transparent about my voting decisions.”

In her post, Taylor also included a photo of herself with one of her cats, which seemed to reference comments made by Donald’s running mate J.D. Vance about “childless cat ladies.” She signed off her post with “Childless Cat Lady.”

Taylor emphasized that the best way to combat misinformation is through the truth. She declared her support for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she stands up for the rights and causes I believe in,” Taylor stated. “She is a steady, capable leader, and I believe we can achieve much more with calm leadership rather than chaos.”

Taylor praised Kamala Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz, 60, for his long-standing support of LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s rights.

“I’ve done my research and made my choice,” Taylor concluded, urging her fans to do the same. “For first-time voters: remember to register to vote and consider early voting. I’ll provide links for registration and early voting information in my story.”

Her endorsement comes amid speculation about her friendship with Brittany Mahomes, who recently interacted with a post about the GOP’s plans.
