Grace Tutt was airlifted to the hospital with life-altering injuries following the incident in Meopham, near Culverstone Green, which occurred three months ago.
Grace, 12, was among 12 children injured in the crash on the A227 South Street around 3:25 p.m. on May 22. She continues to receive specialized care and treatment in the hospital and faces a long and difficult recovery.
A family friend initiated the fundraiser to support Grace and her family. Within less than 24 hours of going live, the campaign surpassed half of its £100,000 goal. As of August 22, the page has raised over £117,000, providing a space for people to offer encouragement and support.
Grace and her family have expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming generosity from friends and the local community. They are heartened by the outpouring of support and love.
Ian Peters, a partner at the personal injury law firm Anthony Gold, is working with Grace’s family to secure damages to aid in her recovery and cover ongoing care and rehabilitation expenses. Any funds raised by the initiative will be held until Grace decides how she wishes to use them.
Following the accident, a 33-year-old man from East Sussex was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail, which has been extended until June 1, 2025, while investigations continue.
