The Springburn Community Festival will be held on Saturday, August 24 from noon until 4pm and is set to be the biggest and best one yet.

For the third year in a row, thousands of residents will take to Springburn Way, the shopping centre and the leisure centre to take part in activities, games, enjoy food and drink and good company.

The area will be lined with stalls of food vendors and local community groups.

Organised by Spirit of Springburn, the occasion was hugely successful last year with over 5,000 guests and has been crowned the “highlight of the North Glasgow calendar”.

For the first time, the lineup will also feature a vintage bus tour presented by MSP Paul Sweeney, family-friendly wrestling and a bookable sensory room.

Emma Porter, from Spirit of Sprngburn, said: “The aim is just to bring the whole community together and show them what we are really like. Because this area gets a lot of bad press.

“It’s really important because it follows a survey we did, where people told us they want a festival and they want activities.

“It’s a chance for everyone together regardless of income or race and meet lots of organisations that they may not know exist.

“We are bringing people together and celebrating Springburn with fun activities and completely free.
