Police say they were called to a report of a man being assaulted in Low Watters Road in the town on Friday, August 16.
The force was alerted to the incident at around 11.55pm.

999 crews raced to the scene.
Following that, a 51-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the attack is underway.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 11.55pm on Friday, August 16, 2024 we were called to a report of man having been assaulted in Low Watters Road, Hamilton.
“Emergency services attended and a 51-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
