Earlier today, several caravans and tow cars were parked across designated bays outside The Wave leisure center in Littlehampton. This car park, located just off the seafront on Sea Road, is currently affected by this situation.
An Arun District Council spokeswoman confirmed that the council is aware of the vehicles.
“We know that travellers have arrived at both East Beach Green and The Wave car park in Littlehampton,” the spokeswoman stated. “We want to assure residents that we are collaborating with West Sussex County Council and Sussex Police to monitor the situation and ensure proper procedures are followed.”
She added, “The seafront car parks remain open for public use, and we encourage visitors to come and enjoy the sunny weather.”
Sussex Police have also confirmed their awareness of the unauthorized encampment at The Wave car park, stating that officers are monitoring the situation in support of the local authority, which is leading the response.
