The scheme will see the promenade above West Beach in Newhaven transformed with a new 296m2 restaurant, outdoor gym, children’s play area and improved pedestrian links.

Following the demolition of existing structures, the development at West Beach will also see extensive landscaping, footpath upgrades that will provide a continuous footpath between the town centre and the waterfront, new toilets, including a Changing Places UK facility and further informal open space.

Councillor Zoe Nicholson, leader of Lewes District Council, said the revamp will bring the “wow factor” to the area and is part of Newhaven’s “renaissance”.
