The B2139 Amberley Road, near Arundel, has been closed both ways between the A29 Whiteways Lodge roundabout and Houghton Lane.
Two vehicles were reported to be involved in a crash, with one vehicle on fire.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said on X: “The B2139 at Houghton, near Arundel is closed and is expected to remain closed for the time being.
“Please avoid the area.”

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police reported that the crash was not serious and that the highways agency has closed the road for assessment.
