Emergency service vehicles including fire engines and a command support unit are in Bexhill’s Town Hall Square this evening with firefighters entering the building wearing oxygen tanks.
It is all part of a training exercise organised by Rother District Council and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service so crews can hone their skills ready for a real blaze.

A spokesman for the service said: “Exercises like this allow firefighters to react in real time to a pretend emergency, learning from their experiences and honing their life saving skills.
“Don’t be alarmed if you see lots of firefighters and fire engines.
“We’d like to thank the Council for supporting this important work.”
The exercise will finish at around 9pm.
