The Killers brought a taste of the glamour of their hometown Las Vegas to the Hydro tonight delivering an incredible performance that showcased their greatest hits.
Performing from a diamond-shaped stage with laser lights sprawling across their thousands of fans, the band kicked off the first of three nights in Glasgow with Read My Mind, taken from their 2006 album Sam‘s Town.
Energetic frontman Brandon Flowers quickly followed with Somebody Told Me while wearing a sparkling suit fit for a showman of course.
He then asked: “What’s up Glasgow? Hello my name in Brandon Flowers and I’ll be your host this evening.”

Jenny Was A Friend of Mine and Smile Like You Mean It proved to be a nostalgic trip reminding fans of their unforgettable 2004 debut Hot Fuss.
Every song on that album instantly became a classic and having it as a launch pad is perhaps why the rockers continue to remain as popular as ever more than two decades on.
Confetti poured from the stage as Flowers adopted a swagger to perform The Man.
He then told the audience that his brother, who is 12 years older, was in the crowd referencing how his sibling’s music taste got him into bands like The Smiths and Joy Division.
And while those influences can be heard in The Killers’ music, the one thing that Flowers has been able to do successfully on his own is create his own persona as a frontman.
Not only is he oozing with charisma, he’s incredibly passionate when he performs every song – and that sort of energy bounces off an audience.

He showcased this in spectacular style with All These Things I’ve Done.
It felt like he was a preacher and the Glasgow crowd was reciting his sermon as they sang loudly, “I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier,” there is nothing else quite like it.
Smiling throughout, Flowers then took on Erasure’s A Little Respect and it was quite simply the cover version we never knew we needed.
Human then followed and is a standout track. Hearing it in a live setting is a complete joy for any fan of the band in the same vein as Mr Brightside which rounded off the first night of The Killers’ Hydro residency.
