“We previously covered the takeover of various city locations by production crews in recent years to film scenes for Apple’s new period drama Debutante, set in 19th-century New York.
The series depicts the journey of lively American girls who navigate their way into London’s elite society, sparking a clash between traditional and modern values.

Glasgow City Council has confirmed that filming for this highly anticipated drama will commence next week, necessitating road closures in Govan.
The following restrictions will be in effect:
– No waiting, loading, or unloading from 6am on June 30, 2024, until 23:59 on July 1, 2024:
– Stag Street in its entirety
– Clydebrae Street in its entirety
– Govan Road, restricted to bus lane only, between Napier Street and Stag Street
– No vehicle movements from 6am on June 30, 2024, until 23:59 on July 1, 2024:
– Stag Street in its entirety
– Clydebrae Street in its entirety
– Govan Road, restricted to bus lane only, between Napier Street and Stag Street (Govan Rd remains open)

This isn’t the first instance of Glasgow serving as a stand-in for New York, with St Vincent Street undergoing a similar transformation in 2022 for the filming of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The cityscape was adorned with American flags, vintage street signs, and New York yellow cabs, replacing our usual black Hackneys.”
