Vincent Thompson, one of the two teenagers discovered injured by an off-duty police officer on Main Road at 11.55 pm on June 9, tragically passed away at the scene. Lisa McKay, sharing cherished family photos with the News Shopper, described Vincent as an exceptional son.
In the images, Vincent is seen outside Wembley Stadium, displaying his passion for Bromley FC, as well as smiling in a family portrait with his parents and siblings. Another photo captures him happily fishing with his father.
Lisa fondly remembered Vincent as kind, honest, and humorous, highlighting his love for fishing, spending time with friends, and helping neighbors with tasks like lawn mowing. She also mentioned his fondness for animals, likening him to Dr. Dolittle.
The second 17-year-old boy involved in the incident was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has since been released under investigation.
Vincent’s family relocated to Biggin Hill from Penge, where he attended Charles Darwin School before transferring to Bromley Trust Academy in Year 10. Lisa credited the academy for bringing out the best in Vincent, enabling him to excel academically and pursue his interests, including plumbing and DJing.
Following Vincent’s passing, a GoFundMe page was set up by a family friend to cover funeral expenses, reflecting the community’s outpouring of support and love during this difficult time.
An 18-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and subsequently released on bail as police investigations into the crash continue. Witnesses are urged to contact the police with any information.Source link
