Tony Chalk – who is from Renfrewshire – received the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) award for his services to the police.
The married man and dad of two is the force’s Head of Fleet.
The 59-year-old joined Strathclyde Police as a senior fleet manager in 2001 and has served for over 20 years, including 10 as Head of Fleet for the single national service.
In his role, he is responsible for 3,500 vehicles and all fleet staff.
Police Scotland says Tony has played a ‘key role in increasing the availability of the fleet for officers and staff to over 95%’.
He’s also been at the heart of the work to transition the Police Scotland fleet to ultra-low emission vehicles.
After finding out about his MBE award, he said: “I’m overwhelmed and blown away to receive this honour.
“The award is all down to the fleet staff who work tirelessly to keep vehicles on the road and to keep people safe.”
Chief Constable Jo Farrell said: “These awards are a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our officers and staff, including our fantastic Special Constables.”
