On Wednesday, May 15th, authorities allegedly confiscated ‘cocaine’ from a location on Clyde Drive in Bellshill. The police estimate the value of the drugs seized to be over £21,000.

Subsequently, a 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. On Thursday, May 16th, two men aged 22 and 41, along with a 41-year-old woman, were arrested and charged after officers reportedly discovered a ‘significant amount of cocaine’ at a property on Milton Street in Motherwell. The police estimate the street value of this find to be over £69,000.

Later, on Wednesday, May 22nd, police allegedly found £14,100 worth of cannabis at Wittagreen Crescent in Motherwell. Three men aged 27, 29, and 51 were arrested and charged in connection with this alleged recovery.

All seven individuals charged have been released on an undertaking to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court at a later date.

Continuing the operations, officers conducted a search at a property on Winston Crescent in Blantyre on Thursday, May 30th, where they allegedly discovered cannabis worth nearly £18,000. A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with this incident and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Detective Inspector Scott Robertson, from Lanarkshire’s Serious and Organized Crime department, emphasized the importance of these arrests in combating drug-related crimes. He urged the public to report any information or concerns about drugs to the authorities.

The total value of drugs recovered throughout Lanarkshire in May amounted to over £122,000.
