Gillingham manager Mark Bonner has landed another winger as he continues to change the face of the squad.

Forward Aaron Rowe was on loan at play-off finalists Crewe Alexandra last season from Huddersfield Town.

The 23-year-old, who describes himself as “a tricky winger”, is the fourth new arrival for Bonner.

Rowe was released by Huddersfield at the end of the season.

He played 47 games on loan at Crewe, where he scored five goals.

The Gills boss said: “Aaron has shown last season his ability to put games together and play in a variety of positions.

“It’s a key period for him to continue developing and improving within our team and use his experiences of League 2 last season to hit the ground running this term.

“He is a quick winger, creative in one v one situations and direct in his approach.

“Aaron helps us change the dynamic of the team and will be relied upon to express himself and get people off their seats.”

Speaking to the club, Rowe said: “I am buzzing. When I heard of the interest I was really excited. It’s always good to have new challenges in your career.

“I am a tricky winger and I like to take on players. I like to take a lot of risks, I want to bring goals and assists.”

Rowe is the second winger to join the Gills this summer after Jack Nolan’s recent arrival. Armani Little and Elliott Nevitt have also joined.
