The closures are scheduled between Monday June 3, until Monday, July 1.

The next QEII bridge closure is scheduled between 10pm on Saturday, June 22 and 5am on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

The works will see repairs to some key electrical components in the east tunnel, as well as planned maintenance to a bridge at A282 junction 1b throughout June.

To work in both areas safely, the A282 northbound carriageway (between M25 junction 2 and A282 junction 1a) and the Dartford east tunnel are scheduled to close.

Weeknight closures of the Dartford east tunnel will then continue for one additional week between Monday June 24 and Friday, June 28.

Routine tunnel safety inspections continue at weekends:

• West tunnel: 10pm to 5am Saturdays

• East tunnel: 10pm to 5am on Sundays (no access for vehicles over 4.8m)

The Dartford Crossing, also known as the A282, connects directly at both ends with the M25 London Orbital Motorway, one of the busiest motorways in Europe.

Carrying over 50 million vehicles a year, the Dartford Crossing is designed to handle 135,000 vehicles a day, but the average is now 150,000 a day – with the busiest days seeing up to 180,000 vehicles using it.
