“The Big Beach Café in Hove Faces Closure After Vandals Cause Extensive Damage

Today, the Big Beach Café in Hove had to remain closed due to significant damage amounting to thousands of pounds inflicted on the building.

The café, situated at Hove Lagoon on Kingsway, shared CCTV footage showing several youths on bikes involved in the incident.

Social media posts revealed one of the youths holding what seemed to be a piece of paving slab above his head before throwing it. Subsequent images displayed the aftermath, with the café’s shutters severely damaged and glass scattered on the ground.

The café expressed its frustration on Instagram, stating, “We regret to inform you that our kitchen cannot operate today due to the substantial damage caused by these three destructive individuals to our community establishment.”

The post urged people to share information about the perpetrators for legal action and restitution.

Both the Big Beach Café management and Sussex Police were reached out to for comments on the situation.

The café, previously owned by renowned DJ Fatboy Slim, has been a prominent local spot since 2013, when it was acquired from Heather Mills, a former model and animal rights advocate who ran the vegan café V Bites for four years.”Source link
