Sonica 2024 kicks off on September 19 for an 11-day extravaganza, spanning multiple venues across the city and featuring talent from Scotland and international acts from Australia, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.

The opening act will be Alessandro Cortini, renowned for his role in Nine Inch Nails, presenting the Scottish debut of his Nati Infiniti project. The festival also boasts the RSNO’s rendition of John Luther Adams’s Become Ocean, accompanied by stunning visuals from coder Alba G Corral, in a pay-what-you-can concert at the Burrell Collection.

Unique performances include Myanmar’s Heft, Dutch duo No Plexus, Quebec artists from MUTEK Festival, and a futuristic cyborg pop concert by NEKO3 and Alexander Schubert.

Sonica 2024 celebrates 30 years of Cryptic, known for its avant-garde audiovisual art. Artistic director Cathie Boyd invites all to experience the festival’s free installations and diverse live events.

Glasgow Life’s Katie Duffy praises Sonica 2024’s lineup, promising a memorable cultural highlight with multimedia experiences, premieres, and international collaborations.
