Sussex Police responded to an incident at a residence on Lavender Street, Brighton, around 7.30pm on Monday, May 27th. Wiltshire House was surrounded by multiple police vehicles.
Despite medical efforts, a 70-year-old Brighton resident was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another 70-year-old woman from Brighton has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Campbell stated, “This appears to be an isolated incident involving individuals acquainted with each other and does not pose a risk to the general public. A visible police presence will be maintained in the area during the investigation.”
