Sussex Square in Kemptown will be closed off on Wednesday, May 22, while film crews shoot scenes for ITV’s Grace.

The filming for the latest season of Peter James’s detective drama will also see crews on set for three days, beginning on Monday.

In a letter to residents, a spokesman for ITV studios said: “On Wednesday we are planning to film scenes involving our characters arriving and departing the property and getting in and out of cars.

“No traffic will be able to enter the closed area. We will of course allow access for residents and deliveries to properties within the managed section while not filming and safe to do so.

“We are aware of the impact our filming may have and will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum.”

Sussex Square will be closed on Wednesday between 7am and 6pm.

Filming in the road will also be taking place on Monday and Tuesday from 8am, but roads will not be closed.

The shoot comes as film crews have been filming scenes across Brighton for the new fifth season of Grace.

The ITV drama, starring John Simm as the titular Roy Grace, has also filmed scenes at the former Popworld in West Street which doubled as a bomb factory earlier this month.

Grace is filmed and set in Brighton having been adapted from Peter James’s novels.

Elsewhere, film crews have also been spotted filming scenes for a new TV series starring Doctor Who star Matt Smith.

The actor was spotted filming in a cafe in Montpelier Road and at other sites in Brighton.
