The University of West of Scotland, Scottish Leather Group, and The Malcolm Group have pledged significant support for the £45 million renovation of Paisley Museum.

In addition to funding from Renfrewshire Council, the revamped museum is set to reopen in 2025 as a world-class facility.

James Lang, chair of Paisley Museum Reimagined Ltd and director of Scottish Leather Group, expressed his deep connection to Paisley Museum and the town’s history, highlighting the importance of supporting its future.

Andrew Malcolm, CEO of The Malcolm Group, emphasized the family’s ties to Paisley and their commitment to preserving community heritage through this partnership.

Professor James Miller from the University of the West of Scotland emphasized the university’s support for a project deeply rooted in Paisley, aligning with their strategic partnership with OneRen, the museum’s operator, to enhance community wealth in Renfrewshire.

This investment is part of a broader £100 million initiative by the council to rejuvenate key cultural venues in Paisley, aiming to boost tourism, economic activity, and civic pride in the town’s heritage.
