A dispute at the Down To Earth coffee shop on St James’s Street in Brighton resulted in a broken window pane.
According to police reports, a man in his 20s was assaulted inside the shop, while another woman was attacked nearby by a group of men on Sunday afternoon.
Following the incident, police officers, some armed, cordoned off the shop’s front entrance after being alerted around 5.30 pm. The cafe remained closed for the remainder of the day.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated, “Both victims sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”
