A “serious crash” occurred at approximately 6:10 pm on Wednesday, May 1, involving a cyclist and a black Ford Fiesta near the junction of Arngask Road on Drumoyne Road in Glasgow.
Emergency services responded to the scene, and the cyclist, a 47-year-old man, was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ford Fiesta allegedly fled the scene, but was located nearby on Kennedar Drive. The occupants, a 21-year-old man (the driver) and a 19-year-old man, were also located and reportedly identified.
The driver, aged 21, was subsequently arrested.
Police are conducting ongoing investigations to ascertain the full details of the incident.
Sergeant Jack Swindells stated, “We believe there were witnesses present at the time of the crash, and we urge anyone in the vicinity who can provide information for our crash investigation to come forward.”
He added, “We also encourage individuals to review their private CCTV and dash-cam footage and contact us if they possess any material that could aid in our inquiries.”
