Police Scotland has confirmed that the body was located in the water near the George V Bridge.

This comes after the Glasgow Times reported earlier that police, fire crews and ambulance have all been pictured at the river this morning.

Cops later confirmed they were called just before 10am following reports of a body being spotted in the river.

Areas of the walkway on either side of the water were cordoned off and the Tradeston Bridge, also known as the Squiggly Bridge, was also taped off.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 4.05pm on Saturday, April 27, the body of a man was recovered from the Clyde near George V Bridge.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
