Traffic was held on the M25 after a car overturned.
The vehicle flipped on the clockwise carriageway just after Junction 2 for the A2 and the Darenth Interchange.
Traffic was temporarily held for 10 minutes while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The two outside lanes remained closed while recovery vehicles were at the scene.
Congestion was backed up to The QE2 Bridge and drivers were warned to expect long delays.
Traffic started to ease by just after 7pm and all lanes had reopened by 7.15pm.
Police were approached for comment.
