Officers say they stopped a vehicle on Great Western Road in the city on Monday, March 4, at around 3.55pm.

After stopping the motor, during a search of it, officers discovered a ‘quantity of cannabis’ with a potential street value of over £65,000.

On top of that, road cops also seized over £3,500 in cash.

Now, a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences.

He is set to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Tuesday, March 5).

Meanwhile, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Road Policing Chief Inspector Lorraine Napier said: “These arrests underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.

“Officers are removing drugs from communities right across Scotland day in, day out, and information provided by the public is vital in helping us continue to do this.

“Anybody with any information or concerns about drugs within their community should contact Police via 101 where we can then investigate.”
