The service, a 9A First Bus, had been travelling on Hillington Road South in Penilee shortly before 7pm on Tuesday when its window was smashed.

An eyewitness told the Glasgow Times that the driver had to stop the route early as it looked like the window was “starting to cave”.

They said: “The bus was hit by what looked like a rock. The bus had to stop early on the route as the window was starting to cave in.”

Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a bus window being smashed in Hillington Road South, Glasgow, around 6.55pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

“Enquiries are at an early stage and officers will be speaking to the reporter for further information.”
