Warnings issued after parts of Sussex hit by flooding - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

A yellow weather warning was in place for the entire county yesterday as Sussex was hit with heavy downpours.

Among the areas worst affected by yesterday’s wet weather was Barcombe Mills, with local roads turned into streams due to flooding.

Floodwater inundated fields, surrounded homes and blocked cars from passing in the village near Lewes.

Two flood warnings remain in place for Sussex for Mock Bridge, near Shermanbury on the River Adur, and Fittleworth on the Western Rother.

Several flood alerts are also in force across the county, including for the River Uck, Climping seafront, the Upper Arun, the River Adur, the Cuckmere River and the Upper Ouse.

More rain is forecast for parts of Sussex this evening, with some scattered showers expected over the weekend.
