Debbie McCready, 30 and Robert McCready, 40, who own Crossfit MTN in Castlemilk, launched the Raw Gymnastics club earlier this year.
The club, which offers gymnastics classes for newborn children to kids up to the age of seven years old, has been designed to enhance the physical, mental and emotional development of youngsters in the city.
Speaking to the Glasgow Times, Debbie said: “The kids come along and learn basic gymnastic skills while just having a nice time.
“We hope to create a community for kids through these classes, helping them grow in confidence and form new friendships through gymnastics.
“We want to be able to educate them by showing them new skills and helping them with their fitness and passions and helping their social skills too.
“It takes a bit of pressure from the parents, but since the parents are there too, it means if their kids want to practice at home then they can physically help and support them.”
Debbie revealed that the club has so far been ‘really popular’.
She added: “We’ve had a really good reception for the classes so far.”
The classes run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday – with each class designed for a different age range and skillset.
The four classes are Raw Explore, Raw Wrigglers, Raw Rollers and Foundation.
The Raw Explore classes are for children who are crawling and up to two years old. The class involves lots of action songs, hand apparatus, and sensory activities.
The Raw Wrigglers classes are for children aged 18 months to three years and involve group activities and time to explore and play.
There is then the Raw Rollers, designed for children aged three and four. The classes are fully structured, working towards kids participating independently from their parents. In these classes, attendees will develop basic gymnastics movements and skills and rotate on circuit stations around the gym.
Lastly, the Foundation classes are for children aged between four and seven years old. These fully structured classes will allow the attending child to have time on the floor to practice their gymnastics movements, skills and sequences.

However, the couple have not just strived for a ‘community vibe’ in their new gymnastics club.
Debbie explained: “When we opened the gym in July, we wanted it to be all about community and exercise.
“We wanted people to want to come back because they’re getting fit while being sociable and making so many new friends.
“We want that community vibe.”
To ensure that the gym is a positive force for the community, Debbie added that she and Robert always do their best to give out free memberships or subside membership fees to help out any members who may be struggling financially or socially.
Debbie wanted to stress that Crossfit MTN is for everyone. The gym is based at 147 Drakemire Drive in Castlemilk, Glasgow.
