Persimmon Homes is continuing to push for planning permission to build 475 homes at Chatsmore Farm, a space of green land north of Goring train station.

Worthing Borough Council won a successful legal challenge against the Planning Inspectorate’s decision to allow for the homes to be built last year.

However, this original decision has now been quashed and will be re-determined at this inquiry, which will begin at Worthing Town Hall, in Chapel Road, on February 6 from 10am.

Further hearings will also be held on February 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20 and 21.

The public is welcome to attend and discussions are scheduled between 10am and roughly 4pm each day.

Worthing Borough Council said: “As a council for the community, we are clear – our green spaces are vital for our health and the health of our planet.

“This includes Chatsmore Farm and we will fight to protect it.”
