The research by Toolstation ranked it as the third “mouldiest” city nationwide.
It used Google search data which showed that there had been 1,540 online searches for information about black mould in the city in a year.

This was still significantly less than Leeds and Edinburgh which had the most annual searches.
Other cities with mould problems include Bristol, London and Liverpool.
Brighton was also listed as one of the top ten UK cities with the most condensation problems.
According to the research, the number of searches for condensation problems across the city stood at 1,770 annually.
