Officers investigating the death of a 52-year-old man say no further action will be taken against a 74- and 53-year-old who were initially detained.

Sussex Police say there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances in the death of the man after he fell from a window in Brunswick Place in Hove.

A force spokeswoman said: “Following a thorough investigation, both men arrested have been released with no further action to be taken.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”

The news comes after police previously said the two men were assisting police in their enquiries.

A police cordon was put in place around the property in Brunswick Place after the 52-year-old man fell from height in the early hours of January 22.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Residents reported hearing a “scream and a smash” in the early hours of the morning. Glass was seen strewn on the floor as police continued their enquiries.
