Officers confirmed the body of a 45-year-old woman was discovered near Eastbourne this afternoon.
Police were called to Beachy Head cliffs shortly after 1pm.
The woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Emergency services were called to the coast near Eastbourne at about 1.10pm on Wednesday. Sadly, the body of a 45-year-old woman was found.
“Her death is not being treated as suspicious and her next of kin have been informed.
“Officers will prepare a report for HM Coroner.”
