Furna, located on New Road, was shortlisted in the ‘Drinks List of the Year’ category and ended up winning.

It went up against Allium at Askham Hall in Cumbria, Noble Rot in London and The Kitchin in Edinburgh.

Discussing the awards the Good Food Guide wrote: “After 15 years of publishing top rankings, we The Good Food Guide Awards 2024 supported by Resy presents a line up of restaurants leading in their field and the 39 Exceptional and World Class restaurants that deliver perfection at every service.

“Each restaurant has been carefully and anonymously inspected to earn their place here and we wholeheartedly recommend every one of them.”

What did the Good Food Guide say about Furna?

In their review of Furna, the Good Food Guide wrote: “This is cooking that rarely puts a foot wrong – top-grade dining without the stuffiness and pomp.

“The whole place is relaxed, vibey and cool, driven by staff who know the full story of every dish, from sourcing to plate.”

Discussing their drinks specifically, they wrote: “An international wine list matches the sophistication of the food, with some excellent local and natural pours catching the eye.”

Elsewhere on the drinks menu at Furna, you could encounter cocktails such as Honey Badger, Winter Lady, Sidecar, Pear Collins and Negroni.

Alongside the extensive wine selection are beers such as Vedett Extra IPA and ciders such as Silly Moo Cider.

Furna is also very well-received by diners, with it having earned a 5/5 score on Tripadvisor from 28 reviews.

One reviewer wrote: “Simply put, the imagination, balancing of (mostly quite strong) tastes, seasoning and pleasure on the eye are top-drawer.
