The patient was probably someone who has quadriplegia due to a cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Elon musks Neuralink chip strives to help individuals who are suffering with paralysis to communicate, by allowing them to control devices with their brain activity. The company said that the purpose of this very first human trial is to evaluate the safety of the chip as well as the surgical robot that implants it into the patient’s brain.
