The burglary took place in Shortlands on Thursday, December 21.
The victims had been out of their flat throughout the day, before returning at around 5.30pm to find that multiple valuable items had been stolen.
These included watches and necklaces as well as £800 in cash.
Police are keen to speak to two men seen leaving the building via the main exit at around 5.30pm that day.
The first man has been described by police as white and slim.
He was around 5ft 10inches and was wearing a dark beanie hat, a white face mask and a short, dark bomber jacket.
The second man has been described by police as white and stocky with dark hair and an unkempt beard.
He was around 5ft 6inches and wearing a gold earring, a hat, a short jacket and a white cloth face mask.
Police have said that one of the two men was carrying a bag.
Items taken during the burglary include several vintage and gold watches, some yellow gold stirrup cufflinks in a chain design, a white gold and diamond necklace and matching earrings, some diamond and pearl earrings, a vintage solid yellow gold Dunhill Rolagas lighter and a Samsonite dark grey/black suitcase.
Detective Constable Aaron Cody, who polices in Bromley, is leading the investigation.
He said: “When someone’s home is burgled, it feels like a very personal invasion and it can cause great distress. Londoners should feel safe when they are in their homes and so we are working hard to crack down on crimes like these.
“As well as the emotional impact of this crime, the victims have also lost several items worth a considerable sum.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who can help in anyway.
“Maybe you were in the area at the time and saw something suspicious.
“Or maybe you have heard about individuals who are trying to sell items matching the descriptions of what was taken.
