One passenger posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying there were a “lot of stressed travellers” due to the alarm.
In response, a Gatwick spokesman said: “There was a fire alarm activation in the North terminal departure lounge, this has been investigated by our fire service team & they’ve confirmed that there was no fire.
“Passenger safety and security are our top priority.”
