Prime Minister campaigns in Lewes ahead of general election - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

The Prime Minister met MP for Lewes Maria Caulfield and Tory activists during a campaign session in Willingdon, near Eastbourne.

Although the village is currently part of the Eastbourne constituency, it will move into the Lewes constituency due to boundary changes when voters next go to the polls.

During the Prime Minister’s visit last week, he spoke to residents who were surprised and pleased to see him in their village.

Residents informed him of their desire to see the small boats stopped from crossing the Channel and better access to their GPs.

Maria Caulfield said: “I am very pleased that the Prime Minister joined me on the doorsteps – it is so important to hear the views of local people directly.

“The message was clear that residents want to see the Prime Minister’s long-term plan delivered and do not want to go back to square one with Keir Starmer.”

Voters are expected to go to the polls for the general election later this year.
