Brighton Half Marathon: Woody Cook to start the youth race - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

Woody Cook, son of broadcaster Zoe Ball and DJ Fatboy Slim, from Hove, will open the one-mile course for junior runners on Hove Promenade on Sunday, February 25.

He said: “I have run the Brighton Half Marathon many times with my dad, it is one of the most uplifting and joyous races you can run. The Brighton and Hove residents are so supportive – turning out in all weathers to cheer on the runners.

“The course is incredible, taking in all my hometown’s most iconic spots. Starting the youth race is a real honour as I get the chance to encourage the kids and pass on my love of running.”

Woody Cook is a DJ and presenter

Woody joins others supporting the Brighton Half Marathon including actor Connor Swindells, comedian and TV presenter Zoe Lyons and DS Chris Oliver from Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins who are all running in support of their chosen charities.

The Brighton Half Marathon youth race is supported by Rockinghorse Children’s Charity for another year.

The local charity supports babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units across  Sussex.
