East Sussex Fire and Rescue have also issued reminders for Sussex residents.

In a social media post, the fire service said: “Storm Isha has moved away but further wet and windy weather is expected this week.

“Some more reminders from us: Remember Road Safety – if it’s time for your wipers, it’s time to slow down.

“Staying in and staying warm? – make sure heaters are safe and away from materials that might burn.”

The fire service, who urged people to call 999 in emergencies, said that residents should also avoid using candles in power cuts “whenever possible”.

No weather warnings have been issued for Sussex at the time of writing.
