Passengers have been left stranded and facing delays after trains were brought to a standstill amid a power supply failure.
Rail services between Dover and Folkestone, and from Folkestone to Ashford have come to a halt.
A rescue train has been sent to those stranded on the line as maintenance crews work to resolve the fault.
Speaking on X, formerly Twitter, a Southeastern spokesman said: “The power supply to our trains has failed between Dover and Folkestone Central and the Ashford bound line is blocked.
“A rescue train is on the way to collect passengers from the train stuck between Dover and Folkestone.
“The train will stop alongside and ramps will be used between the trains for passengers to change from one train to the other.”
Passengers wanting to travel on the line can use Stagecoach bus services 45, 102 and 10 at no extra cost.
