The White Horses, in Marine Drive, Rottingdean, will have 32 bedrooms and its restaurant and bar will have space for 290 people.

This is the Everly Hotels Collection’s first hotel and the site, formerly the White Horse, a Greene King pub, has undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment.

Its promenade location means guests can visit the beach easily.

The hotel offers “superior” rooms with balconies offering sea views and a “premium” terrace for drinks or dining.

New interiors are inspired by the property’s “glamorous and indulgent 1930s past”, Everly said.

Vincent Madden, managing director of the Everly Hotels Collection, said: “This is a big milestone for The Everly Hotels Collection, and we’re thrilled to announce the opening of our first property in early summer 2024, The White Horses hotel.

“A completely unique project, balancing the timeless comfort guests expect from an upscale boutique hotel, with experiences that are very much rooted in the local area – a meeting point for locals and guests alike.

“The White Horses is deeply grounded in the community, and we’re committed to supporting local, so when the doors do open you can expect selected local produce, and seasonal ingredients to be featured on our menus. Our striking discovery bar will stock local wines, ales and spirits complemented by the local larder offering treats, mementos, and gifts from our local partners.”

It comes after hotel chain Guest House announced it would be opening a hotel on Brighton seafront this summer.

The hotel, in King’s Road, Brighton, will have views of the West Pier will open in the city.

It will have 32 rooms in a Regency-style building.

The hotel will have an outdoor terrace bar, a restaurant called Pearly Cow and rooms for events.

Half of the 32 rooms have sea views centred on the West Pier.

The reception will be decorated with art and sculptures made by artists from Brighton.
