Smoke was seen coming from the roof of a bungalow in Hallyburton Road late last night.
Four fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and police were called to the scene at around 8.30pm.
Firefighters fought to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) confirmed that everyone has been accounted for and that the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
She said: “ESFRS was called at 8.25pm on January 7 to reports of a house fire in Hove.
“Smoke had been seen coming from the roof of a bungalow on Hallyburton Road.
“Four fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and officers [were called] to the scene.
“Crews used six breathing apparatus, two hose reels and one main jet.
“Police were also in attendance.
“Everyone has been accounted for. Crews worked hard and were able to prevent the fire from affecting neighbouring properties.
“The cause of the fire has not been confirmed at this stage.”
