Lewes FC is offering vegan fans a discount on tickets to their Barclays Women’s Championship fixture against Durham to mark Veganuary.
The fixture will also see the club only selling plant-based food and drink as they look to promote “kinder and more sustainable food choices”.
Stef McLoughlin, commercial manager at the club, said: “Our vegan fans are passionate, full of purpose and on a mission.
“It’s great to be able to dedicate our match against Durham to them to show our appreciation.
“We hope that this initiative brings more vegan fans to the club while also encouraging people to make kinder and more sustainable food choices.”
Fans will be able to get a 20 per cent discount on tickets to the fixture at The Dripping Pan on January 21 by using the code VEGANSROCK when they book.

On normal matchdays around half of the food options on offer are vegan. The stadium offers unique and unorthodox dishes such as seaweed on chips, creamy vegan chicken pie and vegan meatballs on chips.
Bradley Pritchard, a midfielder in the men’s team, has even started his own pitchside community garden as a condition in his contract. It grows food for the community and has prompted free plant-based cooking classes, available to all.
Veganuary is an initiative where people ditch meat, dairy and other animal products and only have plant-based food and drink throughout January.
Lewes FC are famously the first gender-equal club in the world with equal budgets and resources for both their men’s and women’s sides.
The club is community owned and non-profit.
Lewes FC Women are currently locked in a relegation battle halfway through the season as they sit one point above the drop zone with a game in hand over bottom-place Watford.
The team will face Durham on January 21 at The Dripping Pan in Mountfield Road, Lewes.
