The Hair Cartel – based in Thornliebank – has announced today that it will be shutting its doors following 25 years at 65 Main Street.

The change will take place in the new year.

Taking the Facebook, the business wrote: “It is with a heavy heart I write this but going into 2024 the salon on main street will be closing its shutters down as hair cartel after 25 years in business.

“It’s been a very hard decision to make and not been taken lightly but life is short and sometimes you have to put yourself and mental wellbeing first.

“I have had the salon around five years but grow up knowing nothing else. Both my mum and dad built the salon up from scratch and worked there bums off to make a success.

“Having my own salon then taking on the family run shop has been a rewarding and life changing in more ways than one – I have grown so much and learned a lot along the way. With Covid, the economy and then been a single mum to three beautiful girls it takes its toll and I have to so what is best for my own family.

“I would like to take this time to thank every client who has been apart of the journey me and my family are forever grateful to you and all the memories made in the salon along the way.

“Some who watched me grow from a child to a mother myself – and many who have been with me from the start of my hairdressing journey who are very loyal clients/friends. I also couldn’t have done the last couple of years with out my staff, thank you.”

The owner, however, will keep the page open for clients and will still be cutting hair out with the shop.

They wrote: “Salon page will be left running for my clients to get in contact with myself as I will still be doing hair appointments. You can reach me for number and location, I wont be going far.”
