Health experts at online pharmacy NowPatient have looked at STI data across the UK to reveal the areas and regions where they are most prevalent, both overall and by individual STIs.
The STIs included in the study are chlamydia, gonorrhoea, genital warts and herpes, syphilis, trichomoniasis, mycoplasma genitalium and HIV.
Brighton and Hove was revealed as the seventh most infected area with a total of 3,152 newly reported diagnoses and 1140.65 per 100,000 people in the area.
The city was also revealed to be the English capital, outside of London, for syphilis with 53.92 diagnoses per 100,000 people.
The most infected area in the country is Lincoln with a total of 2,021 newly reported diagnoses and 1974.98 per 100,000 people in the area.
The least infected area is the Isles of Scilly with a total of five diagnosis and 220.17 per 100,000 people in the area.
