Charlie Crookes, 22, was arrested and charged after a knifepoint robbery at around 7.30pm in Lewes Road, Brighton, on December 6.
Sussex Police also charged him following an incident earlier the same day where a man was attacked in The Highway, Moulsecoomb.
The 49-year-old suffered a head injury when he was attacked near a shop.
Witnesses reported seeing three men flee in a blue Ford Fiesta which hit another vehicle and the front of a house in Colbourne Avenue.

A police helicopter was used to search for the men following the incident, which happened at around 9.45am.
A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and a 57-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm.
They were both released on bail pending further enquiries.
Later that day, at 7.30pm, officers were called to Lewes Road in Brighton following a report of a man being robbed at knifepoint.
He was identified as Crookes, of Norwich Drive, Brighton. Crookes has been charged with affray, robbery and being in possession of a knife
He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday (8 December) and was remanded in custody to appear before a crown court to be fixed on 5 January next year.
