The fines and costs imposed on these offenders amount to a total of £6,808.

Among the fourteen cases involving cancelled Blue Badges, eight had been reported as stolen, four as lost, and two were displayed after the badge holders had died.

The remaining three offenders faced charges for neglecting to provide crucial information regarding the identification of a driver following suspected Blue Badge misuse incidents.

Two of these cases involved stolen badges, while in the third case, the displayed badge had been cancelled after being reported as lost.

In all instances, the drivers exploited parking concessions which they were not entitled to.

Found to have used Blue Badges to park after the original holders had passed away Ruoqing Dong of Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon Margaret Finch of Beatrice Road, Bermondsey Failed to provide information related to the identification of the person driving their vehicles during suspected misuse incidents: Tyler Barnes-Igharoro of Oscar Street, Deptford Jason Edwards of Millmark Grove, Brockley Stefan Wood of Tweedy Road, Bromley Blue Badges were displayed in the cases associated with Barnes-Igharoro and Wood, while in Edwards’ case, the displayed badge had been cancelled when reported as lost.

The recent surge in prosecutions brings the total number of Blue Badge misuse-related cases in Bromley to over seventy-five within the last year.

It is crucial to note that Blue Badge misuse constitutes a criminal offense, carrying a penalty of a £1,000 fine and badge confiscation.

A council spokesperson said, “The council will continue to protect the integrity of the Blue Badge scheme by prosecuting anyone found misusing a Blue Badge.

“This remains a serious matter, with our work supporting Blue Badge holders.

“Blue Badge holders who are genuinely entitled to the benefits of the scheme need to be able to park close to their destination and misuse by others compromises their ability to be able to do this.”

1. Miss Alecia Tulloch of Cairo New Road, Croydon, pleaded guilty to two charges. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 11/09/23, she was fined £80 and ordered to pay costs of £100 and a surcharge of £32 – total £212.

2. Mr Tyler Barnes-Igharoro of Oscar Street, Deptford, was proved guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 11/09/23, he was fined £440 and ordered to pay costs of £200 and a surcharge £176 – total £816.

3. Miss Kellecia Brown of St. Lukes Close, Croydon, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bromley Magistrates Court on 19/09/23, she was fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £200 and a surcharge of £80 – total £480.

4. Mr Jason Edwards of Millmark Grove, Brockley, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bromley Magistrates Court on 19/09/23, he was fined £80 and ordered to pay costs of £80 and a surcharge of £32 – total £192.

5. Mr Stefan Wood of Tweedy Road, Bromley, was proved guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 02/10/23, he was fined £30 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £12 – total £127.

6. Miss Stacey Pitcher of Castle Hill Avenue, Croydon, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 02/10/23, she was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £20 – total £155.

7. Mr Rickie Powell of Upper Brockley Road, Lewisham, was proved guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 16/10/23, he was fined £220 and ordered to pay costs of £220 and a surcharge of £88 – total £528.

8. Mr Ezra Campbell of Broughton Road, Thornton Heath, was proved guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 16/10/23, he was fined £220 and ordered to pay costs of £220 and a surcharge of £88 – total £528.

9. Miss Tashawna Scott of St. Theresa’s Walk, Croydon, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 16/10/23, she was fined £80 and ordered to pay costs of £80 and a surcharge of £32 – total £192.

10. Miss Ruoqing Dong of Lower Addiscombe Road Croydon, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 23/10/23, she was conditionally discharged for 6 months and ordered to pay costs of £100 and a surcharge of £26 – total £126.

11. Mr Peter Miller of Greystead Road, Forest Hill was proved guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 31/10/23, he was fined £220 and ordered to pay costs of £150 and a surcharge £88 – total £458.

12. Miss Michaela Montier-Riley of Wilson Road, Camberwell, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 31/10/23, she was fined £115 and ordered to pay costs of £150 and a surcharge of £46 – total £311.

13. Ms Margaret Finch of Beatrice Road, Bermondsey, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 06/11/23, she was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £300 and a surcharge of £16 – total £356.

14. Mr Chariffe Greaves of Exhibition Way, Wembley, was proved guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 06/11/23, he was fined £220 and ordered to pay costs of £350 and a surcharge of £88 – total £658.

15. Miss Natalie Danso of Silverdale Road, Sydenham, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 06/11/23, she was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £250 and a surcharge of £16 – total £306.

16. Miss Nathalia Blake of Turpington Lane, Bromley, pleaded guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 13/11/23, she was fined £146 and ordered to pay costs of £120 and a surcharge of £58 – total £324.

17. Mr Robert Owusu-Fourjour of Watersmeet Road, Thamesmead, was proved guilty. When the case was heard at Bexley Magistrates Court on 13/11/23, he was fined £440 and ordered to pay costs of £423 and a surcharge of £176 – total £1,039.
