Earlier this week, Marks & Spencer (M&S) experienced a significant “cyber incident” that disrupted key services, most notably contactless payments and online order processing. The incident began over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, one of the busiest shopping periods of the year in the UK. Customers reported issues including being unable to use gift cards or vouchers, and some stores resorted to accepting only cash or chip-and-pin payments, which was obviously a major issue for business operations. Police were called to a track a short distance from Erith station today (March 24) at 8.15am to reports of a casualty. Emergency services arrived, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
